In this online history all known translations of the Turkish Bible from the 16th century to the present are itemized with historical notes on each translation. Appendices feature several Turkish versions of the Lord’s Prayer, excerpts comparing the 17th-century translations of Haki (Yahya b. Ishak) and Ali Bey (Wojciech Bobowski) with “Kieffer’s Bible” of 1827; and a biography of Ali Bey reflecting current research.
The history in English annotates the Turkish Bibles from the earliest period to the present. The Turkish translation of the history covers the Ottoman period only.
